Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Captain Steven Swindal comes from a long line of commercial fishermen and crabbers. With over two decades of experience fishing the waters of Tampa Bay and six years as a licensed captain, he brings deep local knowledge and a genuine love for the sport to every trip he runs.
Captain Steven operates a 24-foot Blazer Bay, built in 2016 and powered by a strong Yamaha engine. The boat can reach speeds up to 50 miles per hour, offering both comfort and efficiency for inshore and nearshore adventures. It’s well equipped with GPS navigation, a fish finder, an ice box for keeping drinks and your catch cold, and a wireless trolling motor for smooth and quiet maneuvering. Shade is also provided for extra comfort under the Florida sun.
Every trip includes everything you need for a great day of fishing — your fishing license, rods, reels, tackle, live bait, bottled water, and even catch cleaning after the trip. Captain Steven takes care of all the details so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
Fishing with Florida Raised Fishing Adventures means exploring some of the best spots in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Inshore trips target popular species like Snook, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Mangrove Snapper, Black Drum, and Tripletail. Nearshore trips go after bigger fish, including Gag Grouper, Goliath Grouper, King Mackerel, and more. You’ll use a variety of light and heavy tackle techniques, from spinning and trolling to bottom fishing.

Although nothing in particular is required, we recommend that you bring snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and sunscreen to ensure your trip is even more enjoyable.
- Sunglasses & sunscreen We recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing for the weather (your captain will advise you the day before). And, of course, don't forget your phone to capture memorable moments with photos :)
- Snacks (if you want) The cooler has ample space for your favorite snacks, sodas, or alcoholic beverages should you choose to bring them. For trips of 6 hours or more, we recommend packing a lunch. A sandwich or any easy-to-eat option would be ideal for enjoying while fishing.

The remaining balance is paid directly to the captain on or before the day of your trip. Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Cash, Discover, Venmo, Square or Apple Pay. Please note, a transaction fee of 3.8% applies to credit card payments. Cash transactions are not subject to this fee.

Free cancellation available up to 2 days before the trip
- You can cancel or modify your booking free of charge up to 2 days before the trip date. Your prepayment will be fully refunded.
- If you cancel or modify your booking after this period, or if you fail to show up, your prepayment will not be refunded.
- If the captain decides it is not safe to proceed with the trip (for instance, due to weather conditions or because the boat needs maintenance), the captain can cancel the trip at any time before it starts. In such cases, your prepayment will be fully refunded.
